I am a self -taught Artist and Designer currently living near Harrisburg, PA. My earliest memory of art is when I was 4. My mother was working on an oil paint-by-numbers project kit. She needed to step away from painting and strictly told me not to touch. I couldn’t resist the need to put the brush in my chubby 4-year-old little hand and “paint” for the first time. Painting was something I felt compelled to do. While my mother wasn’t too happy, it started me on my life-long love affair with anything related to art.
I spent a lot of time with Folk Art, Decorative Arts, and Fabric painting and taught Decorative Art classes for a number of years while my children were small. I have explored many mediums, including encaustics, mixed media, cold wax and oil, acrylics and alcohol inks, but the combination of watercolor and collage is my favorite.
I love the intuitive side of art though sketching is goal I am striving to change. Several of my abstract works have been published and sold in major retail venues. I am formally trained in Floral design and professionally spent many years creating art with flowers. When I am not creating art, I enjoy flower and landscape gardening. I also enjoy travelling with my husband, and hope we can all do that someday soon!
