Paula currently maintains a studio at Libertytown Arts Workshop in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she teaches drawing and painting. Paula specializes in watercolor and colored pencil botanicals and animal portraits. She is also an avid urban sketcher filling many sketchbooks and journals with drawings from her life.


Having drawn since childhood, Paula has enjoyed an interest in art throughout her life. She graduated from Radford (College) University with a double major in English Literature and Studio Art, received her Masters Degree in Counseling from The University of Virginia and went on to use all three degrees in her graphics design and advertising business which she owned for over 30 years. Upon retiring in 2014, she started teaching beginning drawing at Libertytown then established her own studio there the following year.

Paula is a founder of Urban Sketchers Fredericksburg, a chapter of Urban Sketchers International and is a member of the International Sketching Workshop.


Paula is a member of the American Society of Botanical Arts, the Botanical Arts Society of the National Capital Region, the Virginia Watercolor Society, the North Windsor Artists, and the Blue Ridge Art League.
