June 16, MAKING CLAY
What do children like to do better than anything else? Getting their hands messy of course. In this class, they will learn to make clay and then use it to design their favorite animal or other work of art. Then, after it dries, they will adorn their creation with paint and baubles.
June 23, DESIGNING AND MAKING A MOBILE FROM FOUND OBJECTS
Using a “found” stick or another suitable object, each child will create their mobile using other found objects or those provided by Celeste. Using string they will add their chosen objects to their “found” branch/stick/or another suitable object to create a personal mobile suitable to hang.
June 30, LET’S MAKE A KITE
Each child will learn to make a kite using their engineering and decorating skills to make their kite. Let's hope there will be enough wind so they can fly them at the end of the class.
July 7, MAKING BEADS WITH PAPER
Using a variety of colorful paper and paint, each child will make beads for a necklace, bracelet, pendant, or any way they want to use them and add other embellishments to make them unique.
July 14, PRINTING with FOUND OBJECTS
Again, using found objects such as leaves flowers, and more, they will learn to ink them and apply them to paper or fabric to create their unique design.
July 21, CARD WEAVING AND BRAIDING
Our final class in this series will incorporate much of what has been learned in the previous classes. Each child will create a personal design or just see where the process leads them. They create their choice through card weaving to create a hairband, bracelet, belt, or other chosen outcome.
